Paper B52 - Part 4 Wing roots

I've decided to build the model with the bomb bay closed. The model calls for a box that is inserted into the bottom of the fuselage to form the internal walls of the bomb bay, and I didn't need that. Also, more support for the wing skin on the bottom of this section would be nice. So, I created an insert that fits on the lower part of each partition.
Here's a view of one of the inserts attached to the middle partition. You can see how it completes the oval shape of that partition so it will support the wing skin across the bottom of the model. I made two more of these for the other two partitions that have the cutout for the bomb bay box.
The next structural pieces are the supports for the wings exactly where they attach to the fuselage. This picture shows the construction of one of those structures. The square, vertical partitions are in two parts because the wooden spars will fit through them.
Here, I'm ready to dry fit the two wing root structures onto the ribs running through the wing box.
Here is the wing box and wing root supports combined. The next step will be to put the skin on the wing box section and continue building out the wings.
Oops. I shouldn't have built in the wooden spars when I made the wing box. The skin for this section is one big piece of card stock, and once I have it fit to one side, I can't get it over the spars on the other side.
You can see from the underside that the one-piece wing skin won't fit over the spars.
So, here's the plan. I'm going to cut the large skin piece and attach it to the wing box bulkheads in two parts. I started to cut it right in the middle of the top, but then realized I can hide the cut under the wing. Here's the line I'm going to cut along.
It doesn't look like it will fit, but that's because the two pieces need to be stretched over the bulk heads and glued down. But, that will work. I need to make some adjustments in the holes the spars fit through.
Now I'm ready to start building out the wings.
